DYK today begins Sukkot 5786, the 7th Biblical Feast for the Lord the Feast of Tabernacles? It is the only holiday in which we are commanded to rejoice! (Lev. 23:33-44). The Feast of Tabernacles represents a time of joy because of a restored relationship with Father God knowing that your sins were forgiven on Yom Kippur.
During this Feast, we are called to celebrate outdoors in a tent for 7 days! It is as though God is calling us for a time-out to be with Him in nature and experience the simple ways of life. It pulls us out of our daily routine and reminds us that our only true covering is God. It's also a way to begin the new season joyful and strong in our trust in the Lord as we are exposed to the elements: wind, rain, cold, heat, bugs, animals, etc. This keeps the spiritual significance of the covering of Yeshua (Jesus) in our minds. It's a very special feast and you don't have to be a Jew to celebrate it -- everyone all around the world is invited to join the feast! It's a wonderful way to begin the new season in Christ. Happy Feast of Tabernacles guys!
Leviticus 23:40
Now on the first day, you shall take for yourselves the foliage of beautiful trees, palm branches, and boughs of leafy trees and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days.
